We all know about stress. We’ve all experienced it at some point or another. While stress is inevitable, the goal is to find practical ways to relieve some stress. When the stress response does not turn off, negative effects can impact overall health. Stress relief techniques allow us to feel happier, calmer, and more motivated.
Over the course of the next three blog articles, I will explore a variety of stress reduction techniques that you can use to turn fear and worry into useful positive energy – for good!
- Put on your “dancing shoes”. Dancing and stress relief have been linked through numerous research studies. When the body feels good, so does the mind. Dance has been shown to offer a creative outlet for people to express their personalities in a safe environment.
- Play your favorite music and just move. No one’s watching! You can tune into your favorite music while doing chores around the house and see how it makes you feel. Keep those ear buds handy for times when you don’t want to disturb others, but want to get the feel-good benefits of music.
- Enroll in dance class. There are tons of options both to learn on your own or with your partner. Get out of your comfort zone and you will soon forget all about what’s stressing you. Dancing improves both your mental and physical well-being.
