Inspiring Thoughts from EAC

Inch by Inch and Yard by Yard

Earlier this week, I attended an event where we examined failure. This is certainly not a topic that is often discussed. As we were talking about it, someone mentioned to me the old adage,

Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard.

When we think about goals, they can seem big and foreboding. Breaking goals down into small steps helps us stay focused and bring the goal to fruition. Even when we think about what didn’t go as planned (failure), it can be easier to dissect what went wrong if we think in smaller increments.

My question to you is, the last time your plans failed, did you take the time to analyze the small steps along the way? Or did you look at it as one big fat failure? In looking at the small steps, we can find success in the bigger picture. Try it. Let me know how it goes for you.
