What if… Part 2

In my last blog post, I shared my intention to be a better listener and promised to discuss my results in two weeks. One experience sticks out in my mind.  I received a call from someone wanting something that I did not feel would be in the best interest of the company or the employees.  In the middle of explaining why I was making the recommendation, the call ended abruptly.  Wow, I was surprised.  In retrospect though, I realized that in my hurry to explain my reasoning in what I was suggesting, I failed to ask questions and listen to the answers.  Being good at listening is hard work and takes practice.  I will continue my quest, and I’d love to hear your experiences in asking what if when you listen.  Please post your experience(s) here.
