I read a great story in John Maxwell’s book, 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, that I’d like to share it with you. It’s about a chicken farmer who lived by a river. His property was quite low, putting it in a high risk flood area, so every spring his farm would flood and he’d lose some of his flock. One year, the spring floods whipped out his entire flock. He said to his wife, “I’m giving up. Every year it’s the same thing and this year was the worst. I quit!” His wife’s response was – “Raise ducks!” I’m going to encourage you to read Maxwell’s book for his interpretation. Here is mine: life is full of challenges. We can give up or we can do something different. What challenge are you facing that instead of giving up, you may want to look at from a different perspective? Feel free to post your response here.
